You will not be able to access the backed-up files without the encryption password.

If you have set a password security question, retrieve the password as prompted when you restore the backed-up files.

If you have not set a password security question and forgotten the password, you will not be able to restore the backed-up files.

Note: Make sure you set a password security question and remember the encryption password.

This is due to encryption algorithm incompatibilities between different app versions when you use a later version of the Backup app to back up data before restoring your phone to its factory settings. Upgrade the Backup app to the latest version and try again.
