How do I clear HUAWEI AppGallery's cache and app installation packages?

If HUAWEI AppGallery occupies a lot of memory space, it is usually due to previously downloaded app installation packages not being installed successfully, resulting in the packages not being cleared. You can clear installation packages and HUAWEI AppGallery's data and cache using the following methods:

Clear app installation packages

  1. Go to AppGallery > Me > Installation packages, scan for installation packages, and delete them as required. (The scanning process may take a while as it is a global scan.)
  2. You can also go to AppGallery > Me > Cleanup to clear the cache and installation packages.

Clear the cache and data

If HUAWEI AppGallery still occupies a lot of memory space after you have cleared installation packages using the preceding methods, you can clear HUAWEI AppGallery's data and cache to release space. To do so, go to:

Settings > Apps/Apps & notifications > Apps > AppGallery > Storage > Clear cache/Clear data

  • HUAWEI AppGallery may not detect installation package folders downloaded via third-party channels. In this case, use Optimizer to detect the folders or locate and delete them in Files.
  • Clearing HUAWEI AppGallery's data will reset AppGallery to its initial state (settings such as Auto-update apps and Update notifications in HUAWEI AppGallery will be restored to default values and need to be configured again) but will not delete other data.
