| The video playback screen exits suddenly when I am using the Movies & TV app to play local videos |
Problem
The user double-clicks the video to try to open it but the video playback screen exits suddenly.
Cause
This happens because the system file is damaged, resulting in a fault with Movies & TV.
Solution
- Update Movies & TV from the Microsoft Store.

- Right-click the video, click Open with, then select Windows Media Player or another third-party video player.

- If you have updated Movies & TV but this issue has not been resolved, we recommend that you use a third-party video player to play videos. If you still want to use Movies & TV to play videos, back up important data on your computer, press F10 multiple times or press and hold F10 during startup to restore the computer to its factory settings.
- Please note that restoring the computer to its factory settings will clear all data in the C drive, including personal files downloaded in Desktop, Downloads, and Documents. Please back up your important data in the C drive in advance.
- Your Microsoft Office account will still be valid after restoring the computer to its factory settings. Enter the Microsoft account and password used when you activated the Microsoft Office for the first time and follow the onscreen instructions to activate Microsoft Office again.
