Set emergency contacts for your account
  1. Why are Emergency contacts necessary?
    • Emergency contacts can be used to retrieve the password of your account. When you retrieve your account password on a new device, a verification code and the emergency contact information will be required. The maximum number of Emergency contacts is five.
    • Emergency contacts can be used for self-service Change account requests to improve your chances.

  2. How do I set Emergency contacts?

    To add Emergency contacts: Go to Account center > Account and security > Emergency contacts, and touch Add at the bottom.

    To delete Emergency contacts: Go to Account center > Account and security > Emergency contacts, touch Delete, select the Emergency contacts you want to delete, and touch the tick icon in the upper right corner.

    Note:

    • Only contacts saved on your phone can be selected as Emergency contacts.
    • When you modify or delete contacts on your phone, you need to update the Emergency contacts that have been added for your account.
    • The phone number of Emergency contacts cannot be the same as the Security phone number.
    • Since Emergency contacts are selected from contacts saved on your phone, you need to ensure that the phone numbers of the selected contacts are entered in the correct text box. Otherwise, these contacts cannot be set as Emergency contacts.

  3. How long does Emergency contacts take effect?

    The settings of Emergency contacts will take effect after 24 hours of adding or modifying them.
