The Auto-pause feature is supported in certain watches. When enabled, your device will automatically pause the workout and vibrate to notify you when it detects a certain period of inactivity, and will resume the workout when it detects increased activity. To check if this feature is enabled, open the app list on your watch, select Workout, touch the Settings icon next to Outdoor run or Outdoor cycle, and see whether the switch for Auto pause is toggled on. (If this setting is unavailable, it indicates that your watch does not support this feature.)

If the automatic workout pause on your watch is not caused by the normal working of the Auto-pause feature, it may be due to accidental button presses or screen touches during the workout. Refer to the following to troubleshoot:

• When wearing clothes with long sleeves, the watch's touchscreen can sometimes wake up after coming into contact with your clothes, depending on the fabric. In this case, keep your watch snugly worn on your wrist, and try rolling up your sleeves to prevent accidental screen touches.

• If you receive an Auto-pause notification but do not wish to pause, press the Up button or side button on your watch or touch the Start icon on the screen to continue the workout.
• A workout can be paused for up to one hour. After that, the workout session will end automatically with the previously tracked fitness data recorded.
