Body fat percentage discrepancy on my HUAWEI body fat scale

If your weight has dropped recently but your body fat percentage hasn't changed, this is normal. Short-term workouts may lead to moisture loss in the body rather than fat, so initially your weight may drop faster than body fat percentage. Please rest assured and continue exercising to achieve fat loss.

1. Check your personal information

Open the Huawei Health app, go to Me > Profile, and fill in your correct personal information including Gender and Height. Personal information is crucial for body fat data accuracy, as body fat distribution varies among different demographic groups.

2. Assume the standard posture for a measurement

Refer to the instructions here to use your HUAWEI body fat scale correctly.

In winter, it is recommended that you remove thick outer coats and step onto the scale in inner wear with warm feet, to get a reliable body fat percentage measurement.

3. Update your body fat scale

Open the Huawei Health app, touch Devices and then the connected scale's card to access the device details screen, touch Check for updates, and follow the onscreen instructions.

4. Other tips for optimal data accuracy

  • If possible, measure at the same time and under consistent conditions each day.
  • Avoid intense exercise, showering, or drinking large amounts of water before a measurement.
  • Regularly replace the battery (alkaline batteries preferred) to ensure sufficient power, as low battery levels may hinder the sensor's functioning.
