Music playback on the HUAWEI FreeBuds/WATCH Buds earphones automatically starts or pauses due to a misoperation
Music playback on the HUAWEI FreeBuds/WATCH Buds earphones automatically starts or pauses due to a misoperation |
As the earphones support smart wear detection, they may resume or pause playback, or switch audio back to your phone if touched unintentionally. To troubleshoot, perform the following steps:
Update your earphones to the latest version
Update your earphones to the latest version. For details, see Firmware and software update guide for the HUAWEI FreeBuds and FreeLace series earphones.
Select appropriate ear tips or adjust the way you wear the earphones
Select appropriate ear tips and adjust the position of the earphones for a better fit. Restart the player on your phone/tablet or tap the earphones twice to play music again.
If the sensor area is blocked and you are not wearing the earphones (such as when they are in your pocket or bag), Smart wear detection might have been triggered by mistake. If you are not wearing the earphones, place them in the charging case or storage bag.
Manually resume playback after removing one earphone
The earphones support Smart wear detection, which automatically changes the status of music playback based on the detected wearing status. For example, if you take off either earphone during music playback, music will automatically pause; if you wear the earphones within 3 min after taking them off, the playback will automatically resume, regardless of whether the music app is running in the foreground or not; if you do not wear the earphones within 3 min, you will need to double-tap the earphone to resume playback.
Modify app settings
Grant permissions to the app to allow it to play and download music using both mobile data and Wi-Fi. This prevents music playback from being paused when Wi-Fi disconnects.
Update the media player to the latest version
Some media players or music apps are unstable and may crash when running. Update the media player or app to the latest version and try again.
Restore your earphones to their factory settings
Press and hold the function button for more than 10 seconds until the indicator flashes to restore the earphones to their factory settings. Then search for and pair with the phone again.
If the issue persists, take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
