1. What are emergency contacts used for?

The information about emergency contacts can be used for resetting your HUAWEI ID password in case you forgot it. To retrieve your HUAWEI ID password on a new device, you will be asked to provide a verification code and other information, such as the numbers of your emergency contacts. You can set up to five emergency contacts.

2. How to set emergency contacts

To add an emergency contact, go to Settings > HUAWEI ID > Account and security > Emergency contacts > Add

To delete an emergency contact, go to Settings > HUAWEI ID > Account and security > Emergency contacts > Delete ,and then select the contact you want to delete, then click the check mark in the upper right corner.

Note:

a. Only entries in Contacts can be set as emergency contacts.

b. If a Contacts entry that has been set as an emergency contact is modified or deleted, you need to update the emergency contact info for your HUAWEI ID.

3. How long does it take for the emergency contact info to take effect after adding or modifying it?

The emergency contact info takes effect 24 hours after it is added or modified.
