Abnormal dynamic route feature on the Huawei Health app

The dynamic route feature is only supported on phones running Android 8.0/iOS 9.0 or later. In addition, the Huawei Health app needs to be updated to the latest version via HUAWEI AppGallery or Apple App Store.

Dynamic route unavailable in a workout record on the Huawei Health app

  • Choose a workout mode for walking, running, cycling, or climbing, restart a session, and the dynamic route feature should be available.
  • You are advised to check your dynamic route after covering a distance of more than 0.2 km.
  • Go to Huawei Health > Me > Settings > Map and select auto or Amap.

My phone doesn't respond when I touch the Start now button to share a dynamic route

Power off and then power on your phone, and try again.

Do not touch Restart. Instead, you'll need to select Power off and then power on your phone again.

After a dynamic route video is saved, it becomes shorter or the playback speed increases

The refresh rate of map apps is restricted to reduce power consumption on certain phone models. As a result, videos are shortened after being saved.

 
  • Such models include HONOR 9, HONOR V9, HUAWEI Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro, and HUAWEI P10 and P10 Plus.
  • If you're using a third-party phone and encounter this issue, contact your phone vendor.

For some routes, the screen flickers when zoomed in during the dynamic route playback on the satellite map

A map scale change involves loading image resources of the corresponding layer, which takes time. The screen flickers because the current frame has not been fully loaded.

A message displays indicating satellite map unavailable in the current area

The maps currently in use on the Huawei Health app are provided by Amap. Satellite maps for some areas are unavailable and therefore cannot be displayed.

You can switch to another map style, such as standard, night, and navigation, by touching the maps icon in the upper left corner of the dynamic route screen.

Some part of the route is blurry on a satellite map

The map supplier may have blurred the satellite maps at certain scales for some areas. For a better experience, you can switch to another map style.

To do so, touch the maps icon in the upper left corner of the dynamic route screen.

The dynamic route's real-time curve differs from the line chart on the Route details screen

The line chart on the Route details screen represents changes in a metric over time, while the dynamic route's real-time curve displays distance-related changes. It is therefore normal that the two are different.

The dynamic route's speed-time curve shows deviations from the actual speeds

The measurement accuracy of real-time speed is based on the density of GPS positioning points. In challenging GPS environments, like subways and areas with tall buildings, the density of GPS positioning points decreases significantly. As a result, real-time speed measurements become less accurate due to this reduced point density.

On some phones, a dynamic route shared via WeChat does not display its details screen as the preview screen

A dynamic route video is set to display its details screen as the first frame by default. However, after such a video is shared, its thumbnail preview may be adapted to the system running on the receiving phone.

Some dynamic route videos have a lower definition after being shared via WeChat

Dynamic route videos shared via WeChat, especially those with the satellite map style, will be compressed to lower definitions. It is recommended that you switch to another map style before sharing.

To do so, touch the maps icon in the upper left corner of the dynamic route screen.

Dynamic route unavailable on my iPhone

The route color may have been wrongly set to a null value during initialization. As a result, a display error occurs for the dynamic route.

This issue has been resolved in app version 12.1.4.325. Please update the HUAWEI Health app at your earliest convenience.
