Powering on, pairing the HUAWEI Ultrathin Keyboard, and quickly switching between Bluetooth devices

The keyboard can pair with up to three Bluetooth devices. After the pairing is complete, you can press the flash switch keys to switch between the Bluetooth devices without pairing again.

  1. Turn the power switch to Win or Mac to power on the keyboard.

    • If the keyboard is connected to a Windows, HarmonyOS, or Android device, you are advised to turn the power switch to Win. If the keyboard is connected to an iOS or macOS device, you are advised to turn the power switch to Mac. Otherwise, there may be compatibility issues with some keys.
    • If the power indicator blinks red, it indicates that the battery level is lower than 10%. Use a USB-C cable with the charging function to charge the keyboard.

  2. Press and hold any flash switch key (such as the F8 key) for more than three seconds until the key indicator blinks white quickly, which indicates that the keyboard starts Bluetooth pairing.

    • After the keyboard is powered on for the first time, it will automatically start pairing without the need for you to press and hold a flash switch key.
    • If the keyboard is not paired with any Bluetooth devices, you can press any flash switch key to start pairing the keyboard with another device via Bluetooth.

  3. Start pairing with a Bluetooth device and follow the onscreen instructions to finish pairing.

    • Some Windows and HarmonyOS devices (such as Huawei laptops and all-in-one devices with PC Manager 11.1.6 or later and Huawei phones and tablets running EMUI 10.0 or later, or HarmonyOS 2 or later) support proximity detection via Bluetooth. When the keyboard enters Bluetooth pairing mode, your device will automatically detect the keyboard and display a pairing prompt. You can follow the onscreen instructions to pair your device with the keyboard.
    • You can also use a USB-C cable to connect the keyboard to the device. If you use a USB-C cable to connect to another device after the keyboard has been paired with a device, the keyboard will switch to the cable connection. You can press Ctrl + Shift + U to disconnect the cable connection and then press any flash switch key to switch to the Bluetooth connection. If you remove and then insert the cable again or press Ctrl + Shift + U, you can switch to the cable connection from the Bluetooth connection.
  4. After the pairing is complete, the indicator on a flash switch key (such as the F8 key) will be steady on for five seconds and then off, which indicates that the keyboard is connected to the Bluetooth device corresponding to the key. In this case, you can press and hold another flash switch key (such as the F9 key) for more than three seconds to enable the keyboard to enter pairing mode and connect to another Bluetooth device.

Up to three Bluetooth devices can be paired with the keyboard at the same time.

  5. After the keyboard has been paired with multiple Bluetooth devices, press a flash switch key, such as F8, F9, or F10. If the corresponding key indicator blinks slowly and then is steady on for five seconds, it indicates that the switchover is successful.
