How do I disable WAN/LAN auto-adaptive of the network port on a HUAWEI router

For routers that support WAN/LAN auto-adaptive, you do not need to distinguish between the WAN port (dialup port) and LAN port (network access port), but you will be able to access the Internet by inserting the network cable into any port.

WAN/LAN auto-adaptive is enabled by default, and can be disabled or enabled again if required. To do so, perform the following:

  1. Connect your phone or computer to the router's Wi-Fi (or to the router's any port using an Ethernet cable). In the address box of a browser, enter the default IP address to log in to the web-based management page of the router. (For the default IP address, see the nameplate on the bottom of the router.)

If you are connecting your phone to the router's Wi-Fi network, switch your phone's webpage to the PC-based UI before performing the following operations.

  2. Choose More Functions > System Settings > Network port settings > WAN port, select Fixed, and click Save to disable the WAN/LAN auto-adaptive function. If you want to enable this feature again, select Auto and click Save.

After WAN/LAN auto-adaptive is disabled, the WAN port is always the network port that is nearest to the power port (the first network port on the right of the power port).
