Problem
The built-in reading light on the HUAWEI MatePad Paper is too bright or too dark
Cause
The HUAWEI MatePad Paper uses electronic paper technology. The screen reflects ambient light rather than emit light, to achieve visual effects and eye protection. Therefore, the brightness of the screen varies depending on the ambient light.
Solution
The HUAWEI MatePad Paper features a 32-level adjustable built-in reading light. Follow the steps below to set an optimally comfortable reading experience:
1. Swipe down on the screen from the upper right corner to open the control panel, and drag the brightness bar in Light mode until viewing is most comfortable.
2. Go to and drag the brightness bar until viewing is most comfortable.
3. If you are reading in a dark environment, turn on the desk lamp or bedside lamp, and adjust the brightness of the built-in reading light by following the steps above.
4. When you are reading in a bright environment, it is recommended that you turn off the built-in reading light, due to the nature of the electronic paper display. To do so, swipe down on the screen from the upper right corner to open Control Panel, and select Off.
