After my HUAWEI phone/tablet is restored to its factory settings, one of the following messages displays: "Activate your device", or "Service unavailable. Your device will not work properly due to a problem with its certificate"

Problems:

• Problem 1: After the phone/tablet is restored to its factory settings, the device is locked and can't enter the home screen. The following message displays: "Activate your device".

  

Problem 2: The following message displays: "Service unavailable. Your device will not work properly due to a problem with its certificate. Please visit an official Huawei service center for assistance."

Cause:

This occurs because unconventional operations (such as ROM flashing) have been performed on the device, resulting in abnormal verification.

Solution

Take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Service Center for assistance.

Note: This issue does not need to be escalated. You are advised to reassure the user. If they are not satisfied with the response, then escalate to complaint.
