Blank home screen on my HUAWEI phone or tablet can't be deleted |
Problem:
A blank home screen can't be deleted, since there's no Delete icon on the home screen editing screen.
Cause:
Abnormal refreshing of third-party widgets can cause the floating window on the blank home screen to come transparent.
Solution:
- It is recommended that you try touching and holding the four corners of the screen in turn (as shown in the red circles below) to see whether the window can pop up. If the window pops up, touch the Uninstall or Remove option to delete the blank home screen.
- If the issue persists, go to Developer options, and enable Show layout bounds.
- Go to Settings > About phone on your phone/tablet, and touch Build number repeatedly in quick succession (if Build number is not available, touch HarmonyOS version) until a dialog box displays, showing You are now a developer!.
Developer mode requires a basic understanding of the functions and features on your phone/tablet. Incorrect settings may cause your phone/tablet to malfunction. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that you disable this mode during daily use.
- Go to Settings > System & updates > Developer options on your phone/tablet, and find and open Show layout bounds.
- Return to the blank home screen, check the view, and touch and hold the view to uninstall or delete.
If none of the above solved the problem, call the Huawei customer service hotline for further assistance.
- Go to Settings > About phone on your phone/tablet, and touch Build number repeatedly in quick succession (if Build number is not available, touch HarmonyOS version) until a dialog box displays, showing You are now a developer!.
