HUAWEI WATCH Buds earbuds fail to charge or charge slowly

The earbuds can't be charged

  • Attach the earbuds to your watch cover, close the cover, and try again. Avoid directly inserting the earbuds into the earbud compartments, as doing so may damage the charging terminals.

Incorrect method:

Correct method:

  • If the watch cover is open, closing the cover can return the charging status to normal.
  • Check whether Power Saving mode is enabled on your watch. If so, swipe down on your watch to open the shortcut menu, go to Settings > Battery, and disable Power Saving.
  • When the battery level of your watch is low (10% or lower), it will not be able to charge your earbuds, so please remember to charge your watch in a timely manner.
  • If your watch detects any liquid infiltration, it will automatically stop charging the earbuds for safety reasons. Check whether the watch has sent a liquid infiltration alert. If so, you'll need to drain the liquid from the watch to return the charging status to normal.
  • If there are any smudges or foreign objects on or near the charging terminals or charging rings, clean them to return the charging status to normal.

The earbuds charge too slowly

  • Check whether the earbuds are being charged in an extremely hot or cold environment, where the charging speed slows down to prolong the battery lifespan. Therefore, it is normal that the charging time is longer in such cases.
  • The HUAWEI WATCH Buds watch periodically checks for liquid infiltration. If infiltrated by liquid, the watch will stop charging. In this case, you'll need to drain the liquid to resume charging, which takes some time.

If your watch detects liquid infiltration, it will vibrate and send you a notification (as shown in the figure on the right). Drain the liquid from the earbud compartments, watch cover, and earbuds as soon as possible.

If the issue persists, take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
