If you cannot find the photo you've just taken in Gallery, perform the following steps.
1. Check whether you exited Camera immediately after taking a photo
To provide a better photo effect, the camera will optimize the photo using intelligent algorithms (such as color/brightness enhancement) after taking a photo. Keep the camera on for 3 to 5 seconds to ensure that the processing is complete. If you close the camera immediately after taking a photo, the photo may not be generated. We are continuously working to improve this process. Thank you for your understanding.
2. Check the photo taking time
Go to Settings, search for Date & time, and enable Set automatically to keep the system time automatically synced. By default, photos are displayed in descending order of shooting time (with the most recent photo first). Modifying the system time may cause sorting issues.
3. Clear Gallery data (applicable only to devices running HarmonyOS 4.X or earlier)
Tap Settings, search for and access Apps, tap the four-dot (three-dot) icon in the upper right corner, tap Show system processes, and find Gallery and Media Storage in the app list. Go to and , respectively. Then, wait for a while and go to Gallery again to view the photo.
- Clearing Gallery data will not delete photos from Gallery, but will cause My favorites, Highlights, and Discover albums to disappear. Highlights and Discover albums will be automatically generated after the device screen is turned off and charged for a period of time. My favorites albums will appear again after you add any photos to favorites. Customized categories of hidden albums in Gallery will be lost, and will then be moved to the restored albums.
- Clearing Media Storage data will reset your media settings, including the ringtone and notification tone settings.
4. Check whether the memory card is damaged
If photo cannot be viewed after the memory card is inserted, remove the memory card and take another photo to try again. If the photo can be displayed in Gallery, the memory card is damaged. In this case, replace the memory card.

If none of the above resolved the problem, call the Huawei customer service hotline for further assistance.
