Unable to sync calendar events between my HUAWEI watch/band and phone

Certain content cannot be synced:

  1. Content from calendar subscriptions (such as the course schedules subscribed to in HUAWEI Calendar) cannot be synced.
  2. On third-party phones, the following content cannot be synced: anniversaries, birthdays, countdowns, lunar calendar, solar terms, to-dos, and course schedules.
  3. HUAWEI WATCH GT 3 and earlier versions do not support syncing.

  • Reminder time difference: When an all-day event is set on the phone, the watch/band will only support a reminder at 9:00, while the phone allows you to customize the reminder time.
  • Temperature protection mechanism: When the phone's CPU temperature is too high, the system will suspend the event syncing feature. Once the temperature returns to normal, syncing will automatically resume.

Prerequisites for syncing:

Syncing events from phone to watch

  • HUAWEI phones:
    1. Only phones running EMUI 10 or later can sync events to the watch's calendar.
    2. The Huawei Health app and the Calendar app on your phone are up to date.
  • Third-party phones:

The Huawei Health app and the Calendar app on your phone are up to date.

Syncing scope:

  • HUAWEI WATCH 4/5/Ultimate 2 Series: In Standard mode, calendar events of the next eight days (including the current day) can be synced from your phone. In Ultra-Long Battery Life/Power Saving mode, Calendar events of the next seven days (including the current day) can be synced from your phone.
  • Other watches/bands: Calendar on your wearable device can only sync events for the next seven days (including the current day) from your phone.

Syncing events from watch to phone

  • HUAWEI WATCH 4/5/Ultimate 2 Series (syncing to the phone is only supported in Standard mode):
    • The Huawei Health app and the Calendar app on your phone are up to date.
    • For HUAWEI phones, the Calendar Storage app must be updated to version 14.0.11.310/14.0.9.350 or later (the actual available version may vary).
  • Other watches/bands: Not supported.

If the events you have added/deleted/modified in Calendar on your phone fail to sync to the Calendar app on your wearable device, perform the following steps:

Make sure that your watch is connected via Bluetooth

  • Make sure that your watch is linked with the Huawei Health app, and that the app is running in the background.
  • If syncing still fails, restart your watch and phone, and check if the issue is resolved.

Xiaomi phones: Set Battery saver to No restrictions for the Huawei Health app. To do so: go to Settings > Apps > Huawei Health, and select No restrictions from Battery saver.

Make sure that Calendar data syncing is enabled in the Huawei Health app

Open the Huawei Health app, tap Devices, select your device, go to Device settings > App management > Calendar, and enable Sync Calendar to watch.

Allow the Huawei Health app to access the Calendar app

To sync Calendar data from your phone to your watch, you'll need to allow the Huawei Health app to access the Calendar app as follows:

  • HUAWEI phones: Go to Settings > Apps & services > Permissions, search for Huawei Health, tap Calendar, and select Allowed for Calendar Permission.

  • iPhones: Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Calendars, and toggle on the switch next to the HUAWEI Health app.

These steps may vary depending on the phone model. For details, please contact your phone's manufacturer.

Ensure that HUAWEI Calendar/Calendar Storage is up to date

  • On your phone, open AppGallery and search for Calendar. If an update is available, install it at your earliest convenience.
  • If your watch can only sync new events, but not modified or deleted events, update Calendar Storage on your phone to a version later than 12.1.3.320.

To check the version of Calendar Storage on your phone, open Settings, search for and access Apps, tap the four-dot icon in the upper right corner, select Show system processes, search for "Calendar", and find Calendar Storage. Please note that Calendar Storage can only be updated with a phone system update.

Update your watch to its latest version

Method 1: Connect your watch to a WLAN network, go to Settings > System & updates > Software update, tap Update, and follow the onscreen instructions.

Method 2: Open the Huawei Health app on your phone, tap Devices, select the connected device, and select Firmware update.

If the issue persists

  1. Unpair your watch from your phone, pair them again, and check if the issue is resolved.
  2. If the issue remains unresolved or you encounter any difficulties, please call the Huawei customer service hotline for further assistance.
