If a screen recording captured using your HUAWEI phone/tablet has no sound, check whether your device was connected to a headset when you were recording the screen. If so, disconnect the headset before recording the screen. If not, perform the following steps:
1. Screen recording does not record sound and there is no voice call in progress
After screen recording is started, tap the microphone icon in the upper left corner of the screen to turn on the microphone (
). This will record both the system audio as well as background sounds.
indicates that the microphone is disabled, and you will only be able to record system audio, such as music playback, and won't be able to record background sounds.
2. Screen recording does not record sound during video/voice calls
If another app is already using the audio channel, it will be given priority. As a result, the microphone will be exclusively used by this app, and the screen recorder will not be able to pick up any sound during screen recording. Close the app or software that is using the microphone, and try again.
3. If the issue persists
If the issue remains unresolved, back up your data and take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
