Find Device app displays the wrong floor information or sometimes does not display the floor information in the earbuds' location

Find Device app displays the wrong floor information or sometimes does not display the floor information in the earbuds' location

We will keep improving the floor information display feature. However, it takes some time to complete data collection for all areas. In this case, the app may not display the floor information for some areas. We will gradually provide the floor information display feature for more areas. Pleases rest assured. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Problem

  • The app does not display the floor information sometimes.
  • The app displays the wrong floor information. For example, the device is actually outdoors when the app displays the floor information, or the displayed floor information is inconsistent with the actual device location.

Cause

The accuracy of the feature can be affected by network signal, building architecture, surroundings, atmospheric pressure, and other factors.

Solution

  1. Make sure that the app version supports the feature. Go to Settings > HMS Core > Check for updates to update the version. If a message is displayed indicating that the current version is the latest, touch About, touch and hold the Version number in the middle of the screen to enter the Components list screen, and update the Find Network version to 6.13.0.300 or later. Then, update the Cloud version to 15.0.0.300 or later.
  2. Make sure the device version supports the feature.
    • For online earbuds (the icon next to the earbuds is green), the feature is available only on phones running HarmonyOS 4.3 or later.

    • For offline FreeClip 2/FreeBuds 6/FreeBuds Pro 4/FreeBuds Pro 3/FreeClip earbuds (the icon next to the earbuds is gray), the feature is available only on phones running HarmonyOS 2.0 or later.
      The floor information display feature is available only on HUAWEI devices running HarmonyOS 2.0 or later, which can report and update the earbuds' location.
