Accuracy of watch-based emotion tracking |
Emotions are the natural response to and outward expression of a person's subjective experience and belong to a type of psychological phenomenon closely related to the person's tendencies such as wants and desires. On a physiological level, emotional changes are caused by the hypothalamic pituitary-adrenal axis (HPA) and autonomic nervous system (ANS).
These changes can be monitored by your wearable and used to infer your emotions. However, emotions are easily affected by subjective reasons and various factors. These can include consumption of alcohol or caffeine, exercise, diet, diseases of the heart/nervous system, medications, and how your device is worn. Inference of emotions based on physical indexes isn't always accurate. Emotions are subjective, and only you can know how you're really feeling. All results are for reference only.
