The authentication screen fails to be displayed when I connect my HUAWEI phone/tablet to a public Wi-Fi network

The Portal authentication screen varies depending on public Wi-Fi networks, and certain web pages may fail to be displayed on the browser of your phone/tablet due to compatibility issues.

Perform the following to troubleshoot:

  1. Close the browser and open it again, open a web page, and try again.
  2. Use another browser app and try again.
  3. Delete the cached data in the browser. (Open HUAWEI Browser, go to Me > Settings, touch Clear browsing data, and select Cached pages and Cookies to clear the data.)

If you are using a third-party browser, follow the onscreen instructions or contact the customer service of the third-party browser.

  4. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi, touch and hold the name of the connected Wi-Fi network, select Modify network, and select Show advanced options. Then, try to connect to the Wi-Fi network using the device's MAC address.
  5. If the issue persists, back up your data and take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
