The taskbar on my HUAWEI computer is too large or too small

Problem

The taskbar on the HUAWEI computer is too large or too small, and needs to be resized.

Cause

The registry of Windows 11 is modified.

Solution

 

• The taskbar cannot be resized in Windows 11 23H2 or later.
• Before modifying the registry, back up the registry data by referring to Backing up and restoring the registry data.

1. Press Win + R to open the Run window, enter "regedit", and click OK.
2. In the left pane, navigate to the following path:

   HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

3. Right-click Advanced in Registry Editor, go to New > DWORD (32-bit) Value, set the name of the DWORD value to TaskbarSi, and press Enter to save the change. Double-click TaskbarSi and set its value.

   The following lists the taskbar icon sizes and their corresponding TaskbarSi values: small taskbar – TaskbarSi value 0; default taskbar – TaskbarSi value 1; large taskbar – TaskbarSi value 2.

4. After the value is set, restart your computer or press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager, and restart Task Manager.

If the issue remains unresolved

If the issue persists, back up your data, record your Office account that has been activated, and use F10 to restore your device to its factory settings.
