Understanding Step Count Sources in Huawei Health

Huawei Health records your daily step count using data from connected devices. To ensure accuracy and transparency, it's important to understand where your step data originates.

Primary Sources of Step Data

Step count information is typically collected from the following sources:

  • Huawei Watch or Band: Tracks steps directly from your wrist.

  • Mobile Phone: When connected to your wearable via the Huawei Health app, your phone may also contribute to step tracking.

How to Identify Your Step Data Source

In some cases, multiple sources may contribute to your step count, or you might be unsure which device is currently active. To verify the source:

  1. Open the Huawei Health app.

  2. Tap on Today’s Steps.

  3. Select the ℹ️ Information icon to view detailed source data.

This feature helps you monitor which device is contributing to your activity records and ensures your health data remains consistent and reliable.

Step Count Difference Between Watch and App

If you notice a difference in step count between your Huawei Watch and the Health app, try the following steps to manually update the data:

  1. Ensure both your Watch and the Huawei Health app are updated to the latest version.

  2. Slide down on the main Health page to trigger a manual sync.

  3. If the difference persists:

  • Restart both your Watch and phone, then check again.
  • Contact your nearest Authorized Service Center (ASC) for further assistance.
