Change the country/region of your HUAWEI ID

Important statement and applicability

You can change the country/region associated with your HUAWEI ID if you move to a new country/region. Huawei will provide you with apps and services that comply with local laws and regulations, cultural characteristics, and usage requirements in the country/region you select.

 
  • Regional restriction: If your account country/region is China and you are residing in the Chinese mainland, you can change the country/region only after you move to a new country/region.
  • Maximum number of times: You can change the country/region associated with your HUAWEI ID maximum of 20 times in a 90-day period., and the 90-day period starts from the first change.

Preparation and impact of changing the country/region

  • Cancel subscriptions in your previous country/region to prevent fees from being charged after the change.
  • After the change, coupons in the previous country/region will be cleared automatically.
  • After the change, the payment methods linked in your previous country/region, including bank cards, mobile numbers, eWallets, payment passwords, and PIN-free payment settings, will become invalid and need to be set again.
  • Prepare payment methods for your new country/region.
  • Huawei will provide content and services for the country or region you select. Some content and services may no longer be available after switching to a different country or region.
  • The country/region of your other devices (such as watches, PCs, and Vision products) logged in to the same account will also change.

Change the country/region

  1. Go to Settings > Log in to HUAWEI ID.
  2. Open the HUAWEI ID screen, and go to Personal info > Country/Region.

  3. Tap Change country/region, and read and confirm the service change notice.
  4. Select the target country/region from the country/region list.
  5. Read and accept the related terms and conditions and privacy policy.
  6. Select a payment method and enter the payment information in the new country/region.
  7. After the switch is complete, the system will automatically synchronize the account country/region information.

FAQs

1. Why can't I find the Country/Region option in account settings?

  • The version is too early. For HarmonyOS 4.X or earlier, update HMS Core (Huawei Mobile Services) to the latest version.
  • If the device you are using is sold in a specific region, no option may be provided for you to change the country/region. In this case, log in to your HUAWEI ID on another device and follow the instructions. If the change is successful, the country/region of the original device will also be updated.

2. Why can't I find the country/region I want in the country/region list?

The service is not available in the country/region you selected, or the country/region cannot be changed due to user privacy and data protection reasons. Actual countries/regions displayed in the list and the search result shall prevail.

3. How do I restore the services in the Chinese mainland after changing the country/region?

You can switch the country/region back to the Chinese mainland as instructed in the preceding steps to restore the services of HUAWEI Wallet, Music, and other apps.
