Which HUAWEI wearable products support HUAWEI TruSleep™ 5.0?
Currently, products that support HUAWEI TruSleep™ 5.0 include HUAWEI WATCH FIT 5, HUAWEI WATCH FIT 5 Pro, and HUAWEI WATCH ULTIMATE DESIGN Spring Edition .
What are the differences between HUAWEI TruSleep™ 5.0 and the previous HUAWEI TruSleep™ versions?
- HUAWEI TruSleep™ 4.0 and earlier versions use sensors to extract physical activity, heart rate, and respiration data to determine sleep stages, which can objectively reflect your sleep health.
- HUAWEI TruSleep™ 5.0 uses sensors to obtain characteristics such as the heart rate interval, frequency domain, time domain, and body movement, and extract characteristics including physical activity, body posture, heart rate, respiration, and neural activity, and compares the sleep stage results with the AASM criteria. It presents sleep quality more comprehensively from two dimensions: sleep structure and sleep stability.
What are the advantages and benefits of updating to HUAWEI TruSleep™ 5.0?
The HUAWEI TruSleep™ 5.0 algorithm has been enhanced to deliver deeper insights into your sleep health. It analyzes your sleep architecture and stability to reveal true sleep quality.
- The sleep structure includes N3 (deep sleep), N1/N2 (light sleep), and REM, which are dynamically cycled. This reflects the intrinsic rhythmicity of physiological and neural activity. The clearer sleep structure allows you to understand your sleep quality with great ease.
- Stable sleep features high coordination between respiration and heart rate. It exists in both N3 and N1/N2. It serves as a key indicator of physical recovery and provides an objective assessment of overall sleep health, offering an empirical basis for lifestyle and physical adjustments.
Why does my N3 duration become shorter or the proportion decrease?

- The algorithm model of the TruSleep system has been updated to present sleep quality more comprehensively from two dimensions: sleep structure and sleep stability. It is normal for the N3 duration to become shorter or the proportion to decrease.
- HUAWEI TruSleep™ 4.0 and earlier versions use sensors to extract physical activity, heart rate, and respiration data to determine sleep stages. With the sleep medicine development and technology evolution, HUAWEI TruSleep™ 5.0 adds physical posture, neural activity, and other characteristics to align with the sleep stage results of the AASM criterion, your N3 duration may be shortened or the proportion of your N3 duration may decrease. For example, when you do not sleep well, your heart and breath may be stable, but your brain may still be active. In this case, HUAWEI TruSleep™ 5.0 does not determine you are in stage N3. However, HUAWEI TruSleep™ 5.0 reflects the intrinsic rhythmicity of physiological and neural activity, and display sleep quality more accurately and comprehensively with a clearer sleep structure. Please keep wearing your watch and observe the changes and improvement in stage N3. Please do not be concerned.
Why is stage N3 concentrated in the first half of the night and not in the second half of the night?

- It is normal for stage N3 to be concentrated in the first half of the night and not in the second half of the night. Please do not be concerned.
- HUAWEI TruSleep™ 5.0 uses the AASM criterion of polysomnography (PSG), the gold standard in sleep monitoring, which is the gold standard for sleep monitoring. Stage N3 is usually concentrated in the first half of the night and is mainly used for body recovery. REM mainly occurs in the second half of the night to regulate memory and emotions. This is in line with the normal sleep patterns of the human body. Please do not be concerned.
Compared with previous HUAWEI wearable products, why does the stage chart of sleep at night change greatly?

HUAWEI TruSleep™ 5.0 has adjusted the criteria for interpreting sleep structures with an updated algorithm model. It is normal that the sleep pattern changes at night. The new sleep stages better reflect the intrinsic rhythmicity of physiological and neural activity, aligning more closely with established consensus in sleep medicine. Please do not be concerned.
Why does my sleep score remain unchanged when my sleep structure changes or my N3 duration is shortened or the proportion decreases?

The HUAWEI TruSleep™ 5.0 algorithm model has added characteristics such as body posture and neural activity, and uses brainwaves to determine sleep stage. It has been updated in terms of sleep structure and sleep stability. Your sleep score is assessed based on multiple factors, such as sleep duration, sleep structure, sleep regularity, and wake-up times, and it has been optimized and adapted based on the reference range of sleep structure indicators. The overall sleep score slightly changes. Please keep wearing your watch and observe the improvement in your deep sleep quality. Please do not be concerned.
