How do I check whether my SIM card has a PIN/PUK lock?
  • To check whether your SIM has a PIN lock and to unlock it:
  1. Connect your computer to the router's Wi-Fi network (or connect the computer to the router's LAN port using an Ethernet cable). Open your Internet browser. Enter 192.168.8.1 in your browser address bar and log in to your router's web-based management page. If you are re-directed to the following page, it indicates your SIM card has a PIN lock.

  2. Enter the correct PIN code in the PIN Code input box and click Save to unlock.

If you are unsure of the correct PIN, please contact your carrier for assistance.

  • To check whether your SIM has a PUK lock and to unlock it:
  1. Connect your computer to the router's Wi-Fi network (or connect the computer to the router's LAN port using an Ethernet cable). Open your Internet browser. Enter 192.168.8.1 in your browser address bar and log in to your router's web-based management page. If you are re-directed to the following page, it indicates your SIM card has a PUK lock.

  2. Enter the correct PUK code in the PUK code input box, then enter the same PIN code in the New PIN and Confirm PIN input box, then click Save to unlock.

If you are unsure of the correct PUK code, please contact your carrier for assistance.

You have a maximum of 10 tries to enter the PUK code. Once you exceed the limit, your SIM card will be locked.
