Unable to receive messages on my HUAWEI watch/band after it's connected to an iPhone

Principle behind push notifications: When your watch/band is connected to your iPhone, iOS will read new messages from your phone's Notification Center and then push them to your watch/band.

Perform the following steps to troubleshoot:

  1. Enable app notifications in HUAWEI Health.

    Open the HUAWEI Health app, and choose Devices and then the connected device. Touch Notifications, toggle on Notifications, and turn on the switches for apps that you want to receive notifications from.

  2. Enable app notifications on your phone.

    Go to Settings > Notifications on your phone, select a target app, toggle on Allow Notifications, select Notification Center, and select Always for Show Previews.

    If you have enabled Require Face ID for an app, Show Previews will be changed to Never for this app. In this case, you'll need to set Show Previews to Always for your watch to receive notifications from this app.

  3. Enable system notification sharing.

    Go to Settings > Bluetooth, touch the connected device, and toggle on Share System Notifications.

  4. Make sure your watch/band is properly linked with HUAWEI Health.

    To check the device connection status, open HUAWEI Health, touch Devices, and view your device card.

  5. Restart your watch/band and phone, and try again.
  6. If the issue persists, update your watch/band and HUAWEI Health to their latest versions, and pair them again.
    • To update the HUAWEI Health app, search for "HUAWEI Health" in App Store, and download and update the app as prompted.
    • To update your watch/band, open HUAWEI Health, choose Devices and then the connected device, and touch Firmware update.
    • Refer to this guide on how to pair your watch/band with your iPhone once again. When your phone displays the message "Allow *** to display iPhone notifications?" during the pairing, touch Allow.
