Unable to charge my HUAWEI band/watch because it cannot be properly attached to the charging base
| Unable to charge my HUAWEI band/watch because it cannot be properly attached to the charging base |
Your device and charging base attach to each other using magnets. A strong magnetic environment (such as when there is a nuclear magnetic resonance machine or an electromagnetic crane around) may weaken the magnets or reverse the polarity. As a result, the device and the charging base cannot attract, and even repel each other. It is recommended that you avoid using or charging your device in such environments. If this issue has occurred, back up your data, and take your device, charging base, and proof of purchase to an authorised Huawei Customer Service Centre for assistance.
If this issue occurs, perform the following steps:
Make sure that you are using the wireless charging base that came with your device
Using third-party charging bases may lead to issues such as misaligned magnetic coils, insufficient magnetic strength, and mismatched charging power. These problems can affect the charging performance, causing issues like charging failure, slow charging, and overheating. Is it recommended that you use the charging base that came with your device.
Make sure that the charging contacts are aligned
If the device is not properly attached to the charging base, their charging contacts may not align. This can cause issues such as charging failure, slow charging, or overheating. Try adjusting the position of your band/watch to ensure that the charging contacts are aligned properly.
Clean the charging contacts
If there are foreign objects or smudges on the charging contacts, it may be difficult to attach the charging base to your band/watch, resulting in a charging failure. You can use a wet wipe or alcohol to clean the charging contacts, and try attaching your device again after they are dry.
- Disconnect the charging base and your device from the power supply before cleaning the charging contacts.
- The charging base is attached with a protective sticker or film before delivery. Remove the sticker or film before charging.
If the issue persists
If the issue persists, there may be a hardware issue, which requires professional operations and instrument tests. In this case, back up your data and take your device, charging base, and proof of purchase to an authorised Huawei Customer Service Centre for assistance.
