Unable to receive reminders when the kids watch enters/exits a safe zone/school guard zone/frequented location/alert zone

Make sure that the notification permission has been enabled for the HUAWEI FamCare app

If the HUAWEI FamCare app has received location reminders on the Communication screen but the reminders are not displayed in the phone Notification Panel, this may be due to the phone's permission settings or background protection settings. Make sure that the notification permission has been enabled for the HUAWEI FamCare app and that background protection has been enabled. For details, refer to here.

Make sure that the switches for Safe zones/School guard/Frequented locations/Alert zones are toggled on

Make sure that the switches for Safe zones/School guard/Frequented locations/Alert zones are toggled on.

To do so: Open the HUAWEI FamCare app, go to Protection > Location reminders, tap the settings icon in the upper right corner, and toggle on the switches for Safe zones/School guard/Frequented locations/Alert zones.

Check whether the watch is at the boundary of a safe zone/school guard zone/frequented location/alert zone

The watch will only send reminders when it enters or leaves the above zones. You can tap a zone you have set to check whether the watch is within the zone. You can also adjust the zone range as required.

To do so: Open the HUAWEI FamCare app, go to Protection > Location reminders, tap the settings icon in the upper right corner, select Safe zones/School guard/Frequented locations/Alert zones, and go the address settings screen to adjust the zone.

 

1. Positioning accuracy can cause location errors. To avoid frequent reminders, the leaving reminder will be triggered only after you move a certain distance beyond the boundary. This may make it seem like there's a delay.
2. The entering and leaving reminders are based on periodic checks. Therefore, there may be a delay in receiving them.

Make sure that School guard is set to a reminder cycle as required

School guard can be set to a reminder cycle, and it will not send reminders outside of this cycle.

To do so: Open the HUAWEI FamCare app, go to Protection > Location reminders, tap the settings icon in the upper right corner, select Safe zones/School guard/Frequented locations/Alert zones, and set the reminder cycle.

Make sure that the watch is not in a special mode

Once the watch enters a special mode, such as Low power/Power Saving/Overtemperature protection mode, the watch will disable the location reminders feature to ensure that your child can contact you using the watch. As a result, the HUAWEI FamCare app will not receive location reminders, which is normal. You will also not be able to receive location reminders when the watch is powered off.
