Earbuds

The battery life of your earbuds depends on service time, feature settings, usage habits, environment, and other factors. It is recommended that you:

  1. Update the earbuds' firmware to the latest version: You can refer to Firmware and software update guide for HUAWEI earbuds or Updating your WATCH Buds for details.
  2. Enable features when needed: The earbuds' battery will keep decreasing when features such as Hearing protection, Spatial audio, Noise cancellation/Awareness, Voice wakeup, and Prioritize sound quality (HD audio quality) are enabled. For a longer battery life, it is recommended that you open the AI Life app and enable the features when needed.
  3. Adjust the volume to a more suitable level: The battery life data given by the official website is typically obtained when audio is played at a 50% volume level. The actual battery life will be shortened when the volume is too high.

Using the earbuds at a high volume for a long time may be harmful to your hearing. It is recommended that you set the volume to a level no higher than 60% and take a break once an hour when using the earbuds.

  4. Place the earbuds in the charging case in a timely manner: The earbuds will continue to consume power even if they are not being used while outside the charging case/watch. It is recommended that you place the earbuds in the charging case/watch and close the case/cover if you are not using them. If you are using FreeLace series neckband earbuds, power the earbuds off or attach them together when they are not in use.
  5. Avoid using the earbuds in the following conditions:
    • The battery may drain faster when the ambient temperature is lower than 0°C or higher than 35°C, which will go back to normal in an environment at a room temperature. This is normal and will not affect the battery lifespan.
    • In environments with signal interference, such as busy road intersections, subway stations, high-speed railway stations, and airports, or there are obstacles between the earbuds and the connected device, such as walls, the Bluetooth signal may weaken. As a result, the Bluetooth connection is unstable and the earbuds' power consumption increases. This is normal and will not affect the battery lifespan.
    • If you enable noise cancellation or make calls in high-noise environments, such as subway stations, airplane cabins, or factories, the earbuds remain in Ultra mode, which may increase power consumption. This is normal and will not affect the battery lifespan.
  6. Charge regularly: If the earbuds have not been used for a long time or are used more frequently, the battery capacity decreases, resulting in issues such as short battery life and fast power consumption.

Fully charge the earbuds before keeping them idle and charge them at least once a month.

If this issue is affecting normal device use, bring your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.

Charging case

The following may cause the charging case to drain quickly:

  1. The charging case is charging earbuds: The earbuds will begin charging when they are placed into the charging case. It is normal if the battery level of the charging case decreases with the earbuds inside.
  2. The charging case still consumes power when the earbuds are in idle: The charging case continuously charges the earbuds when the earbuds are in idle. It is normal for the battery level of the charging case to drop by less than 5% over one day when both the earbuds and the case are fully charged.

    • When offline search is enabled, the charging case keeps working and consuming power.
    • If you frequently open and close the charging case, the earbuds will switch between different modes, which may increase power consumption when the earbuds are in idle.
    • Keeping your earbuds idle for a long time will shorten the battery life. It is recommended that you fully charge the earbuds before keeping them idle and charge them at least once a month.
    • Batteries are consumables. As they age, the battery capacity decreases. If the battery of the charging case drains quickly, bring your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
