My HUAWEI earphones do not automatically reconnect or fail to reconnect |
If your earphones do not automatically reconnect or fail to reconnect after you open the charging case, power them on, or separate them from each other, troubleshoot as follows:
- Place your device within 10 meters of the earphones.
- (Skip this step for WATCH Buds.) Check whether the charging case's/earphones' battery power is sufficient. (If the charging case has two indicators, check whether the indicator inside the charging case is green.)
- For the FreeBuds series earphones, if the charging case that comes with the earphones or the earphones are out of battery power, or the contacts on them are smudged, normal communications between the case and earphones will be affected. Use a cotton swab to gently wipe the metal contacts in the case and on the bottom part of the earphones so that the earphones are in good contact with the case. For details, please refer to Cleaning HUAWEI wireless earphones. Then charge the earphones for more than 10 minutes.
- For the FreeLace Pro 2 earphones, flip the Power switch to expose the red dot, then flip again to expose the green dot, and check whether the indicator is green.
- Ensure that the Bluetooth earphones have been connected to your device before and Bluetooth is enabled on your device. Wait for 15 seconds and then open the charging case or separate the earphones from each other.
- FreeLace series earphones automatically power off 15 hours after they are magnetically attached (72 hours for FreeLace Pro 2 earphones). Power on and separate the earphones from each other to reconnect them to the phone.
- If your earphones cannot reconnect to a watch, this is because watches will not accept any connection requests when they are connected to a phone. To connect to the earphones, touch their name on the watch.
- If you have switched between PrivateSpace and MainSpace on your phone/tablet, disable and then re-enable Bluetooth in Settings, then touch the name of the earphones to reconnect to them, or unpair them and then pair them again.
- For earphones that support dual connection, if the second device fails to reconnect to the earphones while the first device is in a call, wait for five seconds and try again.
If you have connected the earphones to an iPhone and updated the firmware, the earphones won't reconnect after you open the charging case. This issue is caused by the protocol identification failure of iPhones. To resolve this issue, delete the pairing record of the earphones on the Bluetooth screen of your phone, place the earphones in the charging case again, press and hold the Function button to enter Pairing mode, and then connect the earphones.
If the earphones can be reconnected, follow the firmware and software update guide to update the earphones to the latest version. If the issue persists, take your earphones and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
Thanks for your feedback.
