Indicators on HUAWEI earbuds

Check the indicator status on the charging case to determine how much power the earbuds or case has.

FreeBuds/FreeArc/FreeClip series earbuds

  • The charging case is not being charged: The indicator will be steady on for 10 seconds and then turn off after the earbuds are placed in or taken out of the charging case, or after the charging case is opened.
  • The charging case is being charged: The indicator will be steady on. For FreeArc/FreeClip, the indicator will be steady green for 10 seconds and then go dark. The indicator on the FreeBuds Pro 4/FreeClip's charging case will be steady on for 3 seconds after the case is closed.

  • The FreeBuds Pro 4/FreeBuds 6i/FreeBuds Pro 3/FreeBuds SE 2/FreeBuds 5/FreeBuds 4E/FreeBuds 4/FreeBuds 4i/FreeBuds SE models have an indicator on the outside of the charging case. This indicator indicates the battery level of the only earbud in the charging case, the battery level of the earbud with the lower battery level when both earbuds are in the case, or the battery level of the case when neither earbud is in the case.
  • The FreeBuds Lipstick 2 model has an indicator inside and outside of the charging case respectively, displaying same statuses. The indicators indicate the battery level of the only earbud in the charging case, the battery level of the earbud with the lower battery level when both earbuds are in the case, or the battery level of the case when neither earbud is in the case.

When the indicator flashes white, it indicates that the earbuds are in the charging case and are in Pairing mode. When the indicator flashes red, it indicates that the earbuds are in the charging case and are being restored to their factory settings. When the indicator is off, it indicates that the charging case has run out of battery. The indicator turns off when the charger is removed, or when the earbuds are fully charged with a wireless charger. Non-official chargers and data cables will trigger earbuds' overvoltage protection function, which may cause the indicator to flash.
