The taskbar is automatically hidden after I open apps on my HUAWEI 2-in-1 laptop

Problem

In the Windows 22H2 version, after the laptop is switched to Tablet form by removing the keyboard, the taskbar widens, and after any app is opened, the taskbar is automatically hidden and collapsed, but all features remain available.

Cause

This issue is associated with the new features in Microsoft Windows system patch 22621.1344 (released on February 28, 2023).

Solution

1. This is a new feature in the Windows operating system. If this feature affects your normal use, you can disable it as instructed below:
   1. Go to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Taskbar behaviors.

   

   

   2. De-select Optimize taskbar for touch interactions when this device is used as a tablet. The taskbar will display and no longer be hidden automatically.

   

2. If the issue persists, back up important data and restore the system to a previous version. If you are unable to restore the system version, it may be because the system was updated more than 10 days ago or you have deleted the Windows update cache files when cleaning your disk. Back up your data and activate your Office account to use F10 to restore your device to its factory settings. If the issue remains unsolved, take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
   

   After you restore your device to its factory settings, disable Windows automatic update to prevent this issue from recurring.

3. If the issue is still unsolved, take your device and relevant proof to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
