| The personal hotspot on my HUAWEI phone/tablet is automatically disabled |
Problem:
The personal hotspot on a HUAWEI phone/tablet is automatically disabled, causing network disconnection.
Cause:
- The device temperature increases due to high ambient temperature or the continuous high power consumption when the personal hotspot is enabled. To prevent the device from overheating, the personal hotspot is automatically disabled when the temperature reaches a certain level.
- To enhance the battery life, if no device is connected to the hotspot within 10 minutes after the portable Wi-Fi hotspot is enabled, the system automatically disables the portable Wi-Fi hotspot. This is a new feature in EMUI 8.0 and later versions.
Solution:
- HUAWEI phones/tablets have a complete temperature protection mechanism. When the device detects that the temperature of a component or the phone/tablet case is high, it will automatically disable the phone/tablet hotspot. This is normal, and you will be able to resume your use after the temperature restores to normal.
- Avoid placing your device in a place with high temperature or direct sunlight, or in a quilt or blanket that makes it difficult to dissipate heat.
- Avoid using your phone in power-intensive scenarios, such as charging while making a call.
This feature cannot be disabled temporarily. The Wi-Fi hotspot will not be automatically disabled while charging.
If the preceding solutions do not resolve the issue, back up your data and take your device to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
