No sound or low volume when my HUAWEI phone/tablet is playing music via the speaker |
- Go to Settings > Accessibility Features > Accessibility > Audio to check whether Balance is adjusted to the left audio channel or right audio channel. If so, slide the Balance bar to the middle and try again.
- There are several reasons that may result in this issue occurring. Open the My HUAWEI app on the home screen, log in to your HUAWEI ID, and perform the hardware test as follows: Open the My HUAWEI app, and go to Support > Smart Diagnosis > Microphone. Follow the onscreen instructions to test the receiver and speaker.
- If any error is detected, back up your data and take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
- If no error is detected, Power off and restart your device and try again. If the issue persists, try the following methods:
Ensure that the speaker is not blocked
Make sure that the device is covered by a matching protective case to prevent the speaker holes from being blocked. If your device is exposed to water, beverage, oil, dust, or other substances, its filter will be blocked and the speaker volume will be low after long-term use. Use a toothbrush or soft brush to gently clean the speaker holes at the bottom of your phone/tablet.
Ensure that the balance valve (air hole) and the rear microphone are not blocked
Ensure that the balance valve (air hole) and the rear microphone are not blocked by the phone cover, protective case, lens film, or other foreign objects.
Check whether the headset or Bluetooth device icon is displayed
If the headset icon is displayed even though no headset is plugged in, no sound will come from the speaker. For details, see: The headset icon is displayed even though no headset is plugged in.
Try using another app or switching to a different audio or video source, and then try again
Change the audio source to check whether the sound is normal. (You are advised to go to Settings > Sounds & vibration > Phone ringtones > Preset and select any ringtone to test.) If the issue is caused by a third-party app, back up your data, uninstall and reinstall the app, or contact the third-party app for verification. If the sound volume is still low after you switch to another software, back up your data and go to a service center for inspection.
