The other party's voice is different from the actual voice during a call on my HUAWEI phone/tablet

Problem:

The voice of the other party is greatly different from the actual voice during a call on the device.

Cause:

The audio is compressed during transmission, which causes distorted sound. The music played by the other party during a call has a poor effect. This distortion is more noticeable in Speaker mode.

Usually, when playing music through the speaker, local files that don't require transmission over a network are used. This means there's no compression, so the audio quality is much better than during phone calls.

Solution:

  1. Use the receiver whenever possible. When in Hands-free mode, make sure that the volume is not too high.
  2. If you feel that the voice quality is unacceptably poor during calls, back up your data and take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
