The Mate 20 Pro or OLED screen has a green or color cast at low temperature

Causes:

The Mate 20 Pro uses a flexible OLED screen. This type of screen has different current and voltage outputs when used at temperatures lower than -20°C. As a result the screen may have a green cast at very low temperatures.

This is one of the characteristics of OLED screens and does not indicate an issue with your phone, also when you tilt the screen to a different viewing angle or when the ambient lighting is weak, you may notice slight shifts in color.

When you enter Night mode or the screen brightness level is low, color cast will appear on the screen.

Solution to meet the preferences of different users, color temperature adjustment is available.

  1. Settings > Display > Color & eye comfort > Color mode & temperature, then touch or drag the spot on the color circle, or touch Warm or Cool to adjust the color temperature to a preferred level, It is recommended that you adjust the color temperature to a cooler color for a better experience
  2.  Eye comfort: Can effectively reduce blue light and adjust the screen to warmer colors, relieving eye fatigue and protecting your eyesight. When this feature is enabled, the screen will take on a yellow tint. Disable this feature and check whether the issue is resolved.
  3. Uneven display in low luminance: This is the light emitting feature of the OLED screen. It is recommended that the customer disable the Night mode and increase the screen brightness to solve the problem.
  4. Back up your data and restore your phone to factory settings, or update your phone system to the latest version.

If the issue persists, back up your data and take your phone and the proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
