The swipe controls for my HUAWEI FreeBuds series earbuds do not work or the response is usually inaccurate |
When playing music, or making video calls, you can swipe on the earbuds to control playback/call. Perform the following steps to troubleshoot the issue of swipe controls not responding or a frequently inaccurate response:
- You can set different touch controls for the left and right FreeBuds earbuds. Confirm that you have set the touch controls you want for each earbud.
- Swipe the entire touch area at a constant speed until you hear the prompt tone.
- You can only adjust the volume by one bar each time you swipe. Adjust the number of swipes based on your requirements.
- You can only use your HUAWEI earbuds to adjust the volume when audio is played, for example, when playing music/videos or during phone calls/gameplay. If you are using FreeBuds Pro 4, you can swipe to adjust the volume even when no service is running.

- Wipe off sweat from your earbuds or your hands and try again.
- Refer to Use the FreeBuds/FreeLace series earbuds or speaker to adjust the volume or adjust it from a phone to enable Bluetooth absolute volume or Sync volume with phone.
If the volume of the earbuds has reached the upper or lower limit, swipe controls to further increase or reduce the volume won't work. In this case, swipe in the opposite direction to check whether the volume changes. If the volume does not change, you can further adjust the volume on your phone.
If the issue persists, take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
