How to reconfigure my network if I want to replace the primary router with one of the original secondary routers and add another HUAWEI HiLink router
  1. Restore the secondary router that will be configured as the primary router to its factory settings. Then open the HUAWEI AI Life app and follow the Internet access wizard to complete the configuration process for your primary router.
  2. Restore the other secondary router to its factory settings and place it where needed, then connect it to its power supply to automatically establish network connections.
  3. Connect the new HUAWEI HiLink router with your new primary router through the HUAWEI AI Life app, H button, or a cable.

Method 1: Pairing through the HUAWEI AI Life app

Place the HUAWEI HiLink router (new or factory reset) near your primary router (within 1 meter is recommended) and connect it to its power supply. Open the app, which will automatically detect pairable devices nearby, then follow the onscreen prompts to pair your HUAWEI HiLink router.

If no notification prompt appears, touch in the upper right corner of the app's home screen.

Method 2: Pairing through the H button

The following example demonstrates how to pair two HUAWEI WiFi Mesh routers.

  1. Place the HUAWEI HiLink router (new or factory reset) near your primary router (within 1 meter is recommended) and connect it to its power supply.
  2. Wait for approximately 1 minute until the indicator on the primary router flashes. At this point, press the H button on the primary router and its indicator will flash faster. Once the indicator on the HUAWEI HiLink router turns steady blue, the pairing is complete.

After the pairing is successful, the Wi-Fi name and password of the HUAWEI HiLink router will sync with the primary router. You can improve your Wi-Fi coverage by placing your secondary routers where needed. For the best connection, it is recommended that there be no more than 2 walls in between your primary and secondary routers.

Method 3: Direct cable connection

In wired networking mode, ensure that the primary router is connected to an upstream network using an Ethernet cable, and that its indicator remains steady blue.
