You need to set a card as the default one for making payments. To do so, go to Wallet > Me > General > Default card and select the one you desire.
l If you have set a default card, make sure NFC is enabled, and place your phone with its rear camera area against the sensor (without turning on the screen).

To view your transaction records, open Wallet and go to Transportation cards > Transactions > More. Octopus cards can only display up to 40 transaction records.

1.2.3 I can't make payments with Transportation cards in Wallet
No message is reported when the payment fails
The turnstile prompts that you are using an invalid ticket
No message is reported when the payment fails
Perform the following to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Check whether there is sufficient balance in Transportation cards.
If the balance is insufficient, the Transportation cards payment will fail.
2. Check whether NFC is enabled on your phone.
Swipe down on the notification panel to check whether the NFC icon is turned on. If not, turn on the NFC icon and try again.
3. Try a different turnstile at the subway station and hold your phone correctly when making the payment.
− To allow the sensor to detect your phone easily, place your phone with the rear camera area against the center of the sensor, and maintain a distance of 1–2 cm and a suitable angle between them.
− Try again to check whether the issue occurs due to compatibility issues of the turnstile you are trying to go through. Alternatively, try going through another turnstile in the subway station.
4. Restart your phone and try again.
Restart your phone and then pay with your card again.
5. Use One-touch repair in Wallet.
You can clear the Wallet cache by going to Wallet > Me > One-touch repair and touching REPAIR NOW. Then restart your phone and try again.
6. Update your phone to its latest version.
If your phone's system is not up to date, update it to the latest version. To check the system version of a phone running EMUI 10.0.0, go to Settings > System & updates > Software update. You can update it when a new version is available.
7. Update the Wallet app to its latest version.
Open AppGallery, search for and touch Wallet, and check whether Open is displayed next to Wallet. If a new version is available, touch Update.
If the Wallet app is downloaded from a third-party app store, it may have functional issues. It is recommended that you download Wallet from AppGallery.
8. Set another card as the default card.
Go to Wallet > Me > General > Default card and select another card as the default card for making payments. If no other card is available, add a bank card then set it as the default card.
9. Speak to the customer service staff at the subway station for assistance.
If the payment fails when you exit a turnstile at the subway station, ask the onsite staff for assistance (you may need to show the NFC area on your phone). If the card cannot be used due to incomplete information, the card can be used normally after you provide the required information and complete the card verification.
The issue cannot be resolved by the preceding methods?
1. If you cannot go through a turnstile when entering the subway station, perform the following:
An interaction error may have occurred, resulting in your card being in the wrong state. (The state of some Transportation cards may be displayed on the card details screen.) Go to the service window at the subway station to correct your card state and then exit the turnstile.
2. If you cannot go through a turnstile when exiting the subway station, perform the following:
l Open the Wallet app and select the card in question, and check its transaction records on the details screen. If you have already completed the transaction, show the record to the staff and exit from a special turnstile.
If the transaction records show that you didn't complete the payment, go to the service window for assistance. If your card is in the wrong state (the state of some Transportation cards may be displayed on the card details screen), go to the service window to complete the payment and exit from a special turnstile. Some transportation cards will automatically switch to the "exited" state if it has been in the "entered" state for more than 3 hours.
3. Call the Huawei customer service hotline to report this issue and provide the following information:
l Your HUAWEI ID used for activating Transportation cards (usually your phone number or email address)
l Your phone SN (to obtain this information, enter *#06# on the dialer.)
l Description of the issue when paying with your card (including issues of your phone and the turnstile)
l Time when the issue occurred, the route, and the subway station
l If you fail to pay with your card, please fill in the information in within two hours and submit your feedback by going to Wallet > Me > Feedback > Description. (Note: Ensure that you have selected Share app log to help us pinpoint the issue before submitting the feedback.)
The turnstile prompts that you are using an invalid ticket
If you are prompted that you are using an invalid ticket when going through a turnstile at a subway station, it indicates that your card is in the wrong state. Please go to a service window for assistance.
For example, if your card is in the entered state but you actually have not entered the turnstile, you will be prompted that you are using an invalid ticket when trying to go through the turnstile. In this case, you need to go to the service window for assistance.
Note: Show the NFC area on your phone to the customer service staff and correct your card state, then clear the Wallet app from the background. You can then pay with your card again.
If your phone stays on the payment screen and keeps vibrating, wait 1 minute for the payment screen to close by timing out or press the Power button once to exit the payment screen.
1.2.4 A wrong card state is displayed in Wallet
The state under Transportation cards is displayed as "--". The possible causes are as follows:
1. You may not have used this card before. In this case, the state of this card will switch to "entered" or "exited" when you go through the turnstile at a subway station.
2. It may indicate that this card doesn't support the display of states when going through the turnstile at a subway station. This doesn't affect normal use of your card. If you cannot pay with your card, go to a service window for assistance or call the Huawei customer service hotline to give feedback.
1.2.5 Fees are repeatedly deducted when paying with Wallet Transportation cards
This issue may occur due to incomplete interactions between Wallet Transportation cards and the turnstile, or because some turnstile models are not designed with a mechanism that prevents repetitive fee deductions.
Refer to the following table when transport fees are repeatedly deducted.
Virtual Nol card |
For a virtual Nol card, an estimated fee will be deducted first, and the extra amount will be returned after you exit the turnstile. |
1.2.6 Do I need to connect to the Internet or open the Wallet app when paying with Transportation cards?
No, you don't need to connect to the Internet or open the Wallet app.
Only the following conditions are required:
l Your phone is powered on.
l NFC is enabled on your phone.
l On the NFC settings screen, the default payment app is set to Wallet.
To check this setting, go to Settings > More connections > NFC > Default app.
1.2.7 The Swipe screen of the Wallet app automatically pops up
This phenomenon doesn't affect your normal use of your Transportation cards and no fees will be deducted. Please exit this screen manually.
This issue occurs when NFC is always enabled on your phone. If you don't need to use NFC-related functions, disable NFC to resolve this issue.
To disable NFC, swipe down from the top of the screen to open the notification panel, and turn off the NFC icon.
If you don't want to disable NFC, the Swipe screen of Wallet will automatically pop up in the following situations:
1. A nearby turnstile or card reader has detected your phone.
If there is a nearby card reader or turnstile, the Swipe screen of Wallet will be automatically displayed when your phone is detected.
2. Another NFC-enabled device has detected your phone.
If there is a nearby NFC-enabled device such as a phone or wearable device, the Swipe screen of Wallet will be automatically displayed when your phone is detected.
3. A source of RF signal has detected your phone.
If there are nearby sources of RF signal, such as when you are in a station, airport, or subway, or near a security check machine or an NFC-enabled laptop, the Swipe screen of Wallet will be automatically displayed when your phone is detected.
4. The lock screen fingerprint is the same as the quick access fingerprint set in Wallet.
If you have selected the same fingerprint for unlocking your phone screen and quickly accessing the payment screen in Wallet, the Swipe screen of Wallet will be automatically displayed when you use this fingerprint to unlock your phone.
To disable the quick access fingerprint in Wallet:
Go to Wallet > Me > General > Fingerprint and select None.
5. You pressed your phone's Power button twice in quick succession.
If you turn on the Double-press Power button switch in Wallet, the Swipe screen will be automatically displayed when you double-press the Power button.
To turn off the Double-press Power button switch, go to Wallet > Me > General > Double-press Power button.
