The image is blurry on my phone screen during a video call with a HUAWEI kids watch

Kids watches are compact, and their camera lenses and batteries are subject to certain specifications. Compared with phones, kids watches have lower resolution, resulting in a big difference in image clarity. This is normal. We have made a trade-off between video definition, image smoothness, and power consumption through continuous software optimization to maximize your video call experience with your child. Please rest assured.

If you feel that the image on your phone is not clear enough during a video call, you can check the following factors:

The camera lens is too close or too far from the face

During a video call, keep the camera lens at a proper distance of about 25 cm from the face. The kids watch's camera supports a fixed focal length. When the subject is too close to or far from the camera, the image quality declines.

Blurry images due to insufficient light

When the ambient light is insufficient, the camera lens of the watch receives less light, and details are lost in the shadow. As a result, the image quality declines. Make a video call in an environment with sufficient light. During the video call, keep the kids watch stable in order to maintain the image quality.

The network signal is unstable

During video transmission, the image quality is adjusted based on the network status. If the network signal is unstable, the video call image resolution will be reduced. You can switch the phone/watch to another network and try again when the network environment is stable.

The camera lens is dirty or blocked by foreign objects

If the camera lens is covered by a protective film, or is being affected by dirt, dust, or foreign objects, the camera lens imaging will be blurred. In this case, wipe the camera lens with a clean, soft, dry cotton cloth and try again.

If the issue persists or you encounter any difficulties, there may be a hardware issue. Since this involves professional handling and equipment testing, please take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
