Problem:
The Smart Remote app on the phone cannot remotely control infrared devices or the remote control is insensitive.
Solution:
Thank you for your feedback. The Smart Remote app needs to use the infrared sensor of your phone. The location of the infrared sensor varies depending on the phone model. For some phones, the infrared sensor is located in the rear camera area or at the top of the phone. For details about the location of the infrared sensor, visit the Huawei Consumer Business Website. Ensure that the infrared sensor is not blocked by a protective case or other objects. Point the infrared sensor of your phone at an infrared device (such as a household appliance), and tap the button again to send an infrared signal.
If the issue persists, back up your data and take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance. (Tip: Feel free to call the Huawei consumer service hotline before going to a Huawei Customer Service Center.) To save your time, you can make a reservation before going to a service center, by opening the My HUAWEI app and going to Support > Repair appointment/Service centers. The actual condition of your device is subject to the test result provided by the Huawei Customer Service Center. Thank you for your understanding and support.
