Multi-Window View for a Single App

Create multiple task windows for the same app, such as Notes, and drag text between the windows.

This feature is unavailable in some apps.

The following uses Notes as an example.

To enable multi-window view for a single app:

  1. On the home screen, open Notes.

  2. Swipe inward from the left or right edge of your device and hold to bring up the Multi-Window dock.

  3. Hold down on and drag the Notes app icon in the dock to the screen, to enable Split-screen mode and open multiple windows for the Notes app.

If Notes is unavailable in the Multi-Window dock, touch > to enter the editing screen. Then touch the app you wish to add to the Multi-Window dock, touch the Notes app icon to add the app to the dock, and touch to save the settings.

To drag text between a single app's split-screen windows:

Drag text: Touch and hold down on the text and select the desired text, from one of the Notes app's split-screen windows, then touch and hold down on the text once again, and drag it to another window.
