Voice enhancement on HUAWEI FreeBuds earphones

Voice enhancement improves the voice clarity in various scenarios for a better hearing experience.

  1. Update the firmware of the FreeBuds Pro 2, FreeBuds Lipstick, FreeBuds 4, and FreeBuds Pro earphones as well as the AI Life app to the latest version.
  2. This function is suitable for people who are not sensitive to hearing effects, as this function may affect the voice quality and volume. You can decide to enable this function or not based on the test result.
  1. Open the AI Life app, touch the earphones card, and go to Voice enhancement > Voice enhancement, and select the default or custom effect mode.
    1. Default mode: Hearing enhancement offers a slight improvement.
    2. Create custom profile: Enter the customisation screen, go to Hearing test > CONTINUE, complete the test as prompted, and touch Apply.
  2. Select a scenario depending on your environment.

    Scenario

    Description

    Conversations

Enhance the clarity of nearby voices when in Awareness mode. Voice enhancement also needs to be enabled.

    Calls

Hear voices more clearly during calls.

    Media

Enhance the clarity of voices in media content.

    • The voice enhancement function or option is not provided on the FreeBuds Lipstick/FreeBuds 4.
    • If you receive a call during the hearing test, a prompt will play indicating that the test cannot continue as the audio channel is being occupied. In this case, perform the test again after the call.
    • If you feel that the sound is not natural, poor, or the volume changes after enabling Hearing enhancement, perform the test again in a quiet environment or disable this feature.
    • The more times you select No during the hearing test will result in a greater gain in hearing compensation, and there will be occasional, intermittent beeps. Hearing enhancement suppresses howling noises and does not cause any harm to human hearing. If you cannot bear the beeping sound, disable this feature.
