A HUAWEI kids' watch is lost
A HUAWEI kids' watch is lost |
If you believe your kids' watch is lost, you're advised to take immediate action by calling the local police and reporting the watch as lost. This should be done promptly to minimise potential risks. Reporting a kids' watch as lost will lock the device and disable all features except for auto power-on/off and contacting the main admin via making or receiving a voice call. You can try the following steps to see if you could locate the kids' watch.
Locate the watch if it's connected to the Internet
- Access the home screen of HUAWEI FamCare and touch Locate to view the watch's location info.
- If the watch is near you, dial its number to ring it, which may help with the search. If you're using a HUAWEI WATCH KIDS 3 Pro Plus or a HUAWEI WATCH KIDS 4 Series device, you can also go to HUAWEI FamCare > Devices > More > Find watch to try locating the watch.
- If the watch's location is a place you've never been to, try contacting the person who found the watch by dialling the watch number or sending a message.
If a new nano-SIM card is inserted in a kids' watch, the new card number will be automatically synced to the watch admins' HUAWEI FamCare app. If you notice such info change, try calling the new number to reach the person who found the watch.
Report the SIM card as lost and unlink payment apps
If none of the above helped find the watch, unlink all payment apps and report the watch's nano-SIM card as lost to avoid potential property loss.
- If you have linked the watch with an Alipay or WeChat account for wrist-based payments, unlink these apps.
- To avoid potential property loss by improper use of the watch's nano-SIM card (due to real-name authentication), immediately report the loss to the card provider.
If the kids' watch has been linked with a phone via an admin's HUAWEI FamCare account and the watch is lost, no one can change the admin, link with, or unlink from the watch without the main admin's consent.
If you decide to purchase a new kids' watch and have the lost nano-SIM card reissued, you can log in to the new watch with the same HUAWEI ID used on the lost watch. Then the contacts will automatically sync to the new watch. However, this operation will simultaneously restore the lost watch to its factory settings, and admins will no longer be able to obtain information about the lost watch. Exercise caution before proceeding.
Tips for preventing device loss
- Regularly check the watch to ensure sufficient battery power and proper functioning of its positioning feature.
- Set a lock screen PIN for the device, to prevent unauthorised use.
- Instruct your child to keep the watch properly guarded and to avoid taking it off casually or lending it to others without precautions.
