[HUAWEI] Controlling music playback on your HUAWEI WATCH 3/WATCH 4 Series device

The watch supports playing online and offline music. You can still enjoy listening to music even if you do not have your phone or tablet with you.

 
  • Before using this feature, update the watch to its latest version.
  • Some songs require Premium PLUS to be activated in the HUAWEI Music app.

Playing music online

  1. Press the Up button on the watch to open the app list and then touch Music.
  2. Play songs in one of the following ways:
    1. Touch Daily recommendations to play songs by category.
    2. Touch Playlists and select a song in the playlist. To use this feature, you need to create a playlist in HUAWEI Music on your phone first.
    3. Touch Favourites. To use this feature, you need to add songs being played to the Favourites list on the watch or add songs you like on your phone.
    4. Touch Songs. To use this feature, you need to go to Music > Playing music, touch , and download music, or you need to use the Huawei Health app to add songs.
    5. Touch Search to search by song name using the voice assistant.
     
    • You can only sync songs from Playlists and Favourites in the HUAWEI Music app logged in with your HUAWEI ID to the watch.
    • The search feature in Music on the watch is available only in some languages.
    • When the watch is connected to a Wi-Fi network and being charged, it will automatically download songs from Favourites (with Favourites enabled by going to Music > Settings > Favourites) and from Playlists.
      • The device will automatically download the recently added songs.
      • When the device screen turns off, the background power saving wizard automatically disconnects the watch from the Wi-Fi network. In this case, songs cannot be downloaded.

Adding music to your watch

  1. Open the Huawei Health app and go to the device details screen.
  2. Go to Music > Manage music > Add, and select songs to be added.
  3. Click √ in the upper right corner of the screen.
     
    • To use this feature, update your watch and the Huawei Health app to their latest versions.
    • You cannot add music to your watch using an iPhone.
    • You can use the Huawei Health app to add unencrypted music files downloaded from your phone to your watch.

Controlling music on your phone

When the watch is connected to your phone or tablet and music is being played on your phone or tablet, you can use HUAWEI Assistant·TODAY on your watch to start or pause music playback, play the previous or next song, and adjust the volume.
