[Huawei] Unable to use data services on the watch
[Huawei] Unable to use data services on the watch |
Your HUAWEI smartwatch can access the Internet via a phone connected to it through Bluetooth, via a 2.4 GHz WLAN or via an eSIM mobile network (if this service is enabled). The watch will try to use the best possible network and, depending on the actual usage scenarios, it will switch between the available networks.
For example, if the watch is connected to the Huawei Health app running on smartphone, it will give priority to the phone's network in order to save power. When not connected to a mobile phone, the watch will give priority to the connected WLAN. If no WLAN is available, the smartwatch will use the eSIM mobile network.
If your watch cannot use any data service, please try the troubleshooting steps below.
Check the settings on your watch. Swipe down on screen and make sure that Airplane mode and Ultra-long Battery Life mode are not enabled. Disable them if necessary.
Your smartwatch can access the network of a connected smartphone only if that phone runs HarmonyOS or Android; iOS phones are not supported.
If the phone's network is not available, check your phone and make sure that its network is working normally. Also, add the Huawei Health app to the list of apps allowed to run in the background.
Please bear in mind that, when being charged or updated or when using HUAWEI Music, the watch will give priority to the WLAN.
Your HUAWEI smartwatch supports Internet access over WLAN.
If you cannot connect to a WLAN, go to Setings > WLAN and make sure that this feature is enabled on the watch.
Please remember that, when connected to a phone via Bluetooth, the watch will use the phone's network. However, in certain scenarios (for example, when charging, when using HUAWEI Music or during the update process), the smartwatch will switch to the WLAN.
If you want to use the WLAN for all apps, disconnect your watch from the Huawei Health app.
The watch will use the eSIM mobile network when not connected to a smartphone and when no WLAN is available.
If you cannot access the Internet, make sure that the eSIM service is enabled on your smartwatch, that the eSIM status is normal and that you have enough credit left.
On your watch, go to Settings > Mobile network > Cellular Data and enable this function if necessary.
Also, ensure that the current network is working properly (by checking whether the 4G network signal is strong on your phone) and that the eSIM service has been configured for accessing the Internet.
