Measure with Ease on Your Device

HUAWEI AR Measure allows you to measure height, length, volume, and more without the need for a measuring tape.

 
  • Please make sure your device has been updated to the latest system version.

  • If you can't find HUAWEI AR Measure, swipe down from the middle of the home screen to open the search box, enter and touch HUAWEI AR Measure in the list of installed apps.

  • Before taking measurements, make sure that your surroundings are well lit and clear of obstacles and reflective objects.

Measure Height

Open HUAWEI AR Measure, touch Height or People > (depending on your device model), and choose to measure height automatically or manually.

If the icon is not displayed in the viewfinder, it means that your device does not support automatic height measurements.

Manually measure height

  1. If your device supports automatic measurements, first touch to disable automatic measurements. Align the lens with the feet of the person you wish to measure, and slowly move your device to determine the plane for measurement.

  2. Once the plane is identified, move your device to align with the feet of the person being measured, and touch to add a starting point.

  3. Slowly move your device upwards to align the lens with the face of the person being measured. Once the face is identified, your device will display the person's height data.

  4. Drag the end point to fine-tune the measurement result.

Touch to take a photo of the person with the measurement results.

Automatically measure height

  1. On a device that supports automatic measurement, touch to ensure that automatic measurement is enabled. Align the lens with the feet of the person you wish to measure, and slowly move your device to determine the plane for measurement.

  2. After the plane is identified, follow the onscreen instructions and slowly move your device upwards to align the lens with the face of the person being measured. Once the face is identified, your device will display the person's height data.

Touch to take a photo of the person with the measurement results.

Measure Length

  1. On the HUAWEI AR Measure screen, go to Objects > or touch Length.

  2. Frame the surface on which the object is resting in the viewfinder and slowly move your device to locate the plane.

  3. Move your device to point at one end of the object and touch to add a starting point.

  4. Move your device slowly so that travels along the edge of the object until it reaches the end. Touch to complete the measurement.

  5. Your device will automatically display the result.

    Drag the end points to fine-tune the measurement result.

For best results, keep a distance of 0.3–1.5 m (about 1–5 ft.) between your device and the object.

Measure Area

Currently, only the area of circles and rectangles can be measured via HUAWEI AR Measure.

  1. On the HUAWEI AR Measure screen, go to Objects > or Area(depending on your device model).

  2. Align the lens with the surface on which the object is resting and slowly move your device to locate the plane.

  3. When your device identifies the upper surface of the object, it will automatically display a frame that matches the size of the object surface. When the frame matches the size of the plane, touch . Your device will automatically display the result.

  4. Drag the tips of the object to fine-tune the measurement result.

Measure Volume

On the HUAWEI AR Measure screen, go to Objects > or touch Volume. Both automatic and manual measurements are supported.

 
  • If the icon cannot be found in the viewfinder, it means that your device does not support automatic volume measurements.

  • Currently, only the volume of cubes and cuboids can be measured.

  • Make sure the object is not placed against a wall and there is a distance of 1 to 1.5 m (3.3 to 5 ft.) between your device and the object.

Manually measure volume

  1. If your device supports automatic measurements, touch to disable auto mode first. Frame the surface on which the object is resting in the viewfinder and slowly move your device to locate the plane.

  2. When the plane is identified, move your device to point at the object's bottom edge and touch to add a starting point.

  3. Move your device slowly so that travels along the long edge of the object until it reaches the end. Then touch .

  4. Move your device to create a frame for the bottom of the object. When the frame matches the bottom length and width of the object, touch .

  5. Move your device to create a frame for the whole object. When the frame matches the size of the whole object, touch .

    Your device will automatically display the result.

  6. Drag the tips of the object to fine-tune the measurement result.

Automatically measure volume

  1. On a device that supports automatic measurements, touch and make sure that auto mode is enabled. Frame the object in the viewfinder and slowly move your device to locate the plane.

  2. When your device identifies the plane and recognizes the object, a frame will be displayed automatically. Then touch .

    Your device will automatically display the result.

  3. Drag the tips of the object to fine-tune the measurement result.

View Historical Measurement Records

On the HUAWEI AR Measure screen, go to Objects and touch to view or delete historical measurement records, such as length, area, or volume.
