Setting Parental controls on the HUAWEI CPE

The CPE supports Parental controls to control the network access permission of devices, helping you manage children's Internet usage and access time.

 
  • A maximum of 16 devices can be added in the Parental controls list of a CPE.
  • Devices (such as desktops and laptops) connected to the CPE with network cables also support Parental controls. It is recommended that you add wireless devices (such as phones or tablets) to the Parental controls list. Certain features of Parental controls are unavailable on wired devices. Actual performance may vary.
  • A maximum of 16 rules of Internet access time can be set for an added device.

Method 1: Using the AI Life app

  1. Connect the phone to the CPE's Wi-Fi.
  2. Open the AI Life app on your phone.
  3. On the home screen of the app, touch the target CPE to enter the management screen.

  4. Touch Parental controls > Add, and touch the target device.

  5. Set the Internet access time, including Start time, End time, and Repeat, and touch √ in the upper right corner.

Method 2: Using the web-based management page

  1. Connect your phone or computer to the CPE's Wi-Fi (or connect your computer to the CPE's LAN port using a cable). Enter 192.168.8.1 in the address box of the browser, and enter the login password to access the management page of the CPE.
  2. Go to Tools > Parental Control, and choose +.

  3. Select Time, Repeats, and Enable on selected devices (device name and MAC address), and choose Confirm.
