How do I set a limit on the internet access speed of devices connected to the HUAWEI router

You can view a list of all devices connected to your wireless network on the router's Manage Device page. In addition to prohibiting a phone or computer from accessing your wireless network, you can also set a limit on its maximum upload and download rate.

Method 1: Using AI Life App

  1. Connect your phone to the router's Wi-Fi network.
  2. Open the AI Life App, touch the corresponding router to access the router management screen.
  3. Then click Connected devices (or go to Devices > Connected devices), select the device you want to limit from the list of online.

  4. Touch Speed limit, then enable Speed limit and set the maximum upload and download speed for the device, then touch in the upper right corner to confirm.

Method 2: Using the web-based management page

  1. Connect your computer/phone to the router's Wi-Fi , or connect the computer to the router's LAN port using an Ethernet cable. Enter the default IP address in your browser address bar and log in to the web-based management page(check the nameplate at the bottom of the router for the default IP address).

    • For routers that feature self-adaptive ports, you do not need to distinguish between WAN and LAN ports.
    • If you are connecting your phone to the router's Wi-Fi network, switch your phone's webpage to the PC-based UI before performing the following operations.
  2. Enter the Manage Device page (Some routers need to switch from tile mode to list mode).
  3. select the phone or computer that you want to set a limit on, toggle on Limit Rate, and click the icon in Speed limit Values to set the maximum upload and download rate.
